Why Did You Make Paper Tools?

I think Shane Wighton from Stuff Made Here said it best, “The thing that’s always annoyed me about CNC is you can very easily make the machine destroy itself.”

With existing software it’s just too cumbersome to do even simple things like cut a perfect hole in a location you’ve measured and marked, or rip a board in two—things you’d do in just a minute with a drill press or a bandsaw. You’ve got your CNC machine right there in your workshop, but by the time you model your material, create your CAM toolpath and set up your machine, 20 minutes have gone by just to drill a few holes!

When I’m in my workshop, I just want to stay in my flow

The Paper Tools user interface combines a camera view with a modern look and feel.

I’m trying my best to make a very powerful tool that’s fun to use and keeps you building!
